Summary: U.S. Space Command has partnered with Space Force Front Door to serve as the combatant command’s in-road for industry to share innovative ideas and technologies that may advance the Nation’s space capabilities and accelerate the delivery of capabilities to the warfighter.

El Segundo, CA  –  U.S. Space Force Front Door has expanded its services to include support for commercial companies interested in partnering with U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM). This strategic partnership streamlines connection points between commercial enterprises, the combatant command, and other government organizations, advancing the Department of War’s Commercial-First strategy and accelerating the delivery of capabilities to the warfighter.
The Front Door is designed to be simple and effective:

  1. Submission: Companies submit innovative ideas, products, and services through the Front Door portal.

  2. Review: Front Door personnel, using state-of-the-art customer relations management software and system automations, review, vet, log, and track all submissions.

  3. Connection: Submissions that align with military needs are shared with the right experts across USSF, with an ever-growing list of government space partners, including USSPACECOM. All companies receive feedback on potential next steps.

“With the addition of U.S. Space Command, visitors to the Front Door portal can now connect with a broader range of military space organizations,” said Vic Vigliotti, director, USSF Front Door. “Likewise, USSPACECOMM will now have the opportunity to connect with the broader universe of commercial solutions providers engaging with Front Door.”

“Front Door offers the comprehensive platform and process that we require for tapping into the many ideas, products, and technologies that our commercial and industrial sectors are bringing to the table,” said U.S. Navy Cdr. Heather Thomas, USSPACECOM’s lead for Commercial Integration. “In support of the DoW’s Commercial-first strategy, the opportunity to utilize one system eliminates duplicity and is a win for industry as well as a win for government.”

"The Front Door process creates a valuable, searchable database of capabilities that allows the Space Force to rapidly identify and integrate promising technologies," noted Vigliotti. "We encourage companies to check back as their technologies mature and as the demand from combatant commands evolves."

Additionally, all vendors who register with Front Door receive Orbital Watch, a periodic, unclassified threat report from Headquarters Space Force Intelligence. This report helps commercial partners build more resilient systems and mitigate threats.

Since deployment of its streamlined Customer Relationship Management system in September of 2023, USSF Front Door has received more than 2,300 technology submissions from over 1,850 companies interested in connecting with government agencies to share innovative ideas, products, and services. Of those submissions, more than 2,000 connections have been made to mission owners across USSF and beyond. Front Door has also supported the execution of over 100 Industry Day, Reverse Industry Day, and general Industry Events which provide an environment for government and commercial sectors to interact on issues important to the future of U.S. space capabilities. Feedback from these events informs government and industry alike as they work though issues challenging the future of the Nation’s space capabilities.

Launched by Space Systems Command (SSC) in 2023, the initiative was created to be the first step for startups, non-traditional partners, and commercial vendors seeking to engage with USSF. It was renamed "USSF Front Door" in September 2025 to reflect its expansion to support all three Space Force field commands.

Space Force Front Door operates within SSC’s Commercial Space Office (COMSO), which is responsible for accelerating commercial partnerships to deliver fight tonight capabilities aligned with warfighter needs. Space Force Front Door will continue to play an integral role in coordinating across combatant commands and syncing partnership initiatives across the entire U.S. space enterprise.
