Integrated by Design: Air & Space Forces Association Salutes Space Systems Command

Leaders from Space Systems Command joined various senior principals from across the national space enterprise to celebrate SSC’s accomplishments, as well as discuss rapid developments, challenges, and opportunities fueling the command’s desire to solidify its resilience by 2026 in Los Angeles, California, June 9, 2023.
 
The open forum, hosted by the Air and Space Forces Association Los Angeles Chapter 147, provided leaders from various space backgrounds the opportunity to converse about topics like tactically responsive space, allied by design, and the urgency of being resilient in a growing contested space domain.
 
Following the executive forums, the AFA chapter, alongside SSC’s commander Lt. Gen. Michael Guetlein, hosted an awards banquet to recognize 16 personnel – military and civilian – for their outstanding performance in the areas of program management, science, engineering, volunteerism, and leadership.
 
As the designated U.S. Space Force field command that’s responsible for acquiring and delivering resilient war fighting capabilities to protect the nation’s strategic advantage in and from space, engaging industry enables the command to ensure interoperability of partnerships through a unified effort.
