Integrated by Design: Air & Space Forces Association Salute’s Space Systems Command

Appointed officers in the Air and Space Forces Association Los Angeles Chapter 147 deliver remarks to attendees during the annual salute to Space Systems Command awards banquet in Los Angeles, California, June 9, 2023. The chapter, alongside SSC’s commander Lt. Gen. Michael Guetlein, recognized 16 members for their outstanding performance in the areas of program management, science, engineering, volunteerism, and leadership. Among the category of awards, and highlight for the banquet, was the presentation of the General Bernard Schriever National Space Leadership Award. The Schriever National Space Leadership Award, given to a nationally recognized space leader, was presented to Guetlein. Coming on the heels of a day filled with panel discussions between military, government, industry, and community leaders, attendees participated in focused discussions, which addressed acquisition related challenges that impact the command’s ability to support the warfighter.
