COMMERCIAL SPACE OFFICE


The Space Systems Command Commercial Space Office (COMSO) is tasked with accelerating the delivery of fight tonight capabilities to the warfighter in support of the United States Space Force (USSF) commercial space strategy. It serves as the primary gateway for the USSF to leverage the innovation and speed of the commercial space sector. Efforts are coordinated across combatant commands and synced with partnership initiatives across the U.S. Space Force, Department of War (DoW) and agencies involved with space capabilities and development.

Serves as the primary gateway for commercial enterprises to navigate the military acquisition landscape. This digital portal and customer support team demystifies the defense procurement process, helping the Space Force to rapidly identify and integrate cutting-edge commercial solutions, ensuring the Space Force maintains a competitive advantage in the space domain.

SpaceWERX


Acts as the innovation arm of the USSF, providing seed and bridge funding to startups through Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI), and Strategic Funding Increase (STRAFI) awards to help them scale their operations for larger contracts. Modeled after the Air Force's AFWERX, companies who enter through the USSF Front Door, may be directed to SpaceWERX if their technology is still in the developmental or prototype phase.

Commercial Augmentation Space Reserve (CASR)                                      


A strategic framework, modeled after the Air Force's Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF), that establishes pre-negotiated agreements providing the DoW with guaranteed access to commercial surge capacity during times of crisis or conflict. Through a structured system of voluntary participation and contractual agreements, CASR defines the legal,  financial, and operational protocols for prioritizing government requirements during emergencies while compensating commercial providers for their readiness.

Investor Relations

Fosters partnerships with the investment community to promote private investment in dual-use space technologies, ensuring transparency and aligning commercial interest with DoW demand signals.
