Beyond the classroom: USAFA cadets discover the real-world impact of space operations

Cadets from the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) stand together in the courtyard of Space Systems Command (SSC) headquarters at Los Angeles Air Force Base, April 10, 2026. These future leaders from Cadet Squadron 09, ranging from “Firsties” (seniors) to “third-class cadets” (sophomores), traveled from their Colorado Springs, Colo. campus to gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. Space Force mission and the role of SSC in maintaining our nation’s superiority in the space domain.
