Galaxy Program Offers Intensive Leadership Development for Guardian Officers, Civilians
Members of SSC’s Galaxy cohort 13.5 (left to right) Lt. Garrison Lagapa, Lt. Coco (Julia) Kuchins, Capt. Gerald Hills, Lt. Emily Rowley, Lt. Amy Kang, Lt. Kevin Chang, join in front of the only Sea Based X-Band Radar in operational use in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in January 2026. This massive, maneuverable, floating radar is designed to detect and track ballistic missiles, discriminating warheads from decoys. Members conducted engagements in Hawaii to understand Indo-Pacific Combatant Command priorities and how space supports joint warfighters, including threat briefings with SPACEFOR-INDOPAC and discussions with USINDOPACOM senior leaders.
